The SEC may have rarely been more deep and balanced in men's golf than the group of 14 teams that will begin play on Friday in the conference tournament, at the Sea Island Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.
Half of the conference is ranked among the top-13 in the nation in Golfweek's most recent index, and five comprise half of the top-10 teams.
Georgia, led by Lee McCoy, is ranked third in the nation, followed by No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Florida and No. 9 Alabama. South Carolina is 12th and Auburn is 13th.
